Brian Michael Bendis, Gabriele Dell’otto and Matt Fraction are Marvel All-Star Line Up for NY Comic
Three of Marvel’s most celebrated and renowned creators and artists will be attending New York Comic Con (NYCC). The star-studded line up includes Guest of Honor appearances by Brian Michael Bendis, Gabrielle Dell’Otto and Matt Fraction, all of whom will appear on panels and will be autographing at different points throughout the thee-day show. New York Comic, which has grown rapidly since its launch in 2006 to become the second largest popular culture event in the United States, will take place at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City, February 6 – 8, 2009.
“This is the first announcement that we’re making about Marvel guests at New York Comic Con, and it’s a big one!” notes Lance Fensterman, the Show Manager for NYCC. “These guys are at the absolute apex of what they do, and Marvel is providing us an incredibly classy presentation of top talent. We couldn’t be happier that they will be attending our show and I know that we will have a huge turnout for all their various activities.”
BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS is an award-winning comics creator and one of the most successful writers working in mainstream comics. For the last nine years, Brian’s books have consistently sat on the top of the nationwide comic and graphic novel sales charts. Brian is currently helming a renaissance for Marvel’s Avengers franchise by writing both New Avengers and Dark Avengers along with the wildly successful event projects House of M, Secret War, and Secret Invasion. Brian is one of the premiere architects of Marvel's Ultimate line of comics, a line of comics specifically created for the new generation of comics reader, and he has written every issue of Ultimate Spider-Man since its best-selling launch in 1999. Brian’s other projects include the Eisner-Award-winning Powers from Marvel's creator-owned imprint Icon and the Hollywood tell all Fortune and Glory. He lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife, Alisa, his gorgeous daughters, Olivia and Sabrina, and his dogs, Shroeder, Lucky, and Buster.
GABRIELE DELL’OTTO is an Italian illustrator whose work can be seen in comics, calendars, lithographs, magazines, video games, and scientific illustrations. He got his start with Marvel in 1988 when he was hired by Marco Marcello Lupoi in Marvel's Italian Division, and he quickly began to work on projects seen in Italy, Germany, and France. In 2002, after meeting Joe Quesada in France, Gabriele got his first American work. His big break in America was working on Marvel's Secret War with Brian Michael Bendis. He's since tackled numerous projects in the US including all the covers for Marvel's Annihilation.
MATT FRACTION writes Uncanny X-Men and The Invincible Iron Man for Marvel Comics. He's written the graphic novels The Five Fists of Science and Last of The Independents. His other comics work includes a Sensational Spider-Man annual and The Immortal Iron Fist with Ed Brubaker, Punisher: War Journal with Rick Remender, Thor: Ages Of Thunder and Thor: Secret Invasion, and the Harvey-nominated The Order. He lives in Kansas City with his wife, the writer Kelly Sue DeConnick, his son Henry, two jerky dogs, and two jerky cats. And some fish. But that's it.

Nice to know youll be there. Gab is there every year, weird choice for a guest of Honour this year i think...
who will go to NY Comic Con ?
it's great to see such great authors !
I'm going - fan from Philadelphia here.
And it's about time they made Gab a "GUEST OF HONOR", I just hope it doesn't prevent me from finally getting a commission sketch from him.
Gab is a phenominal artist, I'm just glad that NYCC have made the announcement that he will be attending. I remember last year, no mention of his being there was made by NYCC
Xav - I'll try to get some good pics this year of his sketches and e-mail them for all the fans to see.
Buon Natale,
Carlos
my best advice is to get there friday when the convention opens and get on the list.
his list fills up quick and he is pretty firm about not adding to the list once it is complete.
Ilia,
Thanks for the advice, that was definitely my plan. As a matter of fact I bought a VIP ticket which will allow me to get into the con early on Friday, so I'll be running for his table.
Like I said, I'll try to get some pics of the sketches he does if I can.
