First thing I noticed about this interview. Perhaps the best quality I have heard from any podcast recently.

What gives?

Was it recorded at John's work?

The sound quality was indeed vastly improved. There must be something different. Hope it stays that way! It's much more easy to listen to. The volume levels were nicer this time.

on the sound quality...

due to alex's schedule i had to do the interview from my day job, at the radio studios of wilv-fm.

so, yeah nice compressor/limitter and strong phone connection, makes for a higher quality of recording

sadly it's always a favor to use the station's equipment, so it won't be a sound change you can count on for future shows.

i do hope to improve my current equip, but that takes time and money.
