That's badass.
He and this store Kidrobot just released a limited edition figure/statue of Miss November 1978, which was made available last night at their store in West Hollywood, where Pope was on hand to autograph them and chat with people.
I went, got my figure, and this fantastic Jonah Hex sketch (the guy in front of me got a sweet Batman, and was kind enough to give me paper for mine). He said it was the first time he'd ever drawn Hex, so that was pretty cool as well. Paul was an incredibly nice guy and cool to chat with for a few minutes. I was just bummed that the new remastered Heavy Liquid hardcover isn't out for 2 more weeks. Also, there's a 100% hardcover coming in April, and he very well may be doing an issue of Jonah Hex.
Excuse the crappy cameraphone quality:

That's badass.
very cool .
So did he only do the illustration/sketch the piece was based on or did he have a hand in the sculpting?
Nice sketch!
i gotta buy that. already have the masked karimbah
That's awesome, man. First time drawing Hex? You've got a piece of history there! Especially if he does end up drawing an issue.
I'm just "discovering" Paul Pope at the moment, he's so great.
I always figured Pope would be intimidating to talk to. Like, he'd be nice and everything, but in your heart you'd know he was too cool for you and too cool for the room.![]()
Wow. Fantastic!
I am made out of water. You wouldn't know it, because I have it bound in. My friends are made out of water, too. All of them. The problem for us is that not only do we have to walk around without being absorbed by the ground but we also have to earn our livings.

I'd totally buy a Paul Pope Jonah Hex comic.
