    Re: Marvel assembles cartoon 'Avengers'

They played all the shorts on tv today so I watched em all.

    Random thoughts...

    - This version of Nick Fury is weird.

    - The actions scenes are pretty good overall, if they do have some nonsense bits in them still (like say the Hulk ripping rockets off a fighter jet thing and then somehow shooting said rockets at tanks.)

    - Some of the dialogue is groan worthy, especially in Thor stuff. But then, it is Thor.

    - Hawkeye is great.

    - Hero Hulk in this is not working for me.

    - Hydra being a replacement for the Nazis in WW2 is baffling, and I really hope they don't do the same thing in the Cap movie. However, Hydra in the future was really cool. Grim reaper! Satan's Claw! Sadly no Zemo yet.

    - A lot of the voice acting seems cheap. DC must have all the good voice people in some sort of dungeon.

    - Graviton looks badass.

    - I'll never get why the villain Klaw isn't replaced with someone way cooler in the Black Panther's cartoon back stories. He's such a lame bad guy.

    - I was sure Kang was going to pull Bucky out of the time stream.

    - Hank Pym and the Wasp- will anyone besides Mark Millar ever make them even slightly interesting?

Do you get upset that GI Joe doesn't intervene against Al Qaeda?
They say all of Hyrda is conquering Europe and never mention the Axis, so yeah I'd say its safe to assume Hyrda is a replacement for the Nazis.

And yes, I think leaving the Nazis out of WW2 is incredibly stupid.

Regardless of the fact that its a kids show.

Agreed with Dave about Nazis/ Hydra. Really, I'm not missing actual Nazis in this at all.

Human Target is right on about Hawkeye, Graviton, and the voice talent (everyone sounded the same with the exception of thick accents). Pushed further, Grim Reaper could be an even cooler rogue.

I do appreciate that Hank has a clearer agenda in this world and the prison reveal was a nice touch!

Just use your grown-up mind to imagine that they are referring to Hydra like they're one specific branch of the German army and are saying that the SS or the brownshirts are conquering Europe and that means they're talking about Nazis. Or get hung up on it, whatever.

Its weird, the villains all have pretty good voices and the heroes all sounds like one guy.

I keep thinking Black Widow is going to yell about Mooses and Squirrels.

The prisons were a really cool idea. I wonder about the 4th one. They showed a trash barge when they mentioned it. Will it be the Raft? Will it be the Negative Zone prison?

    oh yeah- Maria Hill!

Eh, I think certain real world things shouldn't be sugar coated for kids.

Its not like I expect them to show live footage of the Holocaust, but excluding the Nazis for cartoon villains sits badly with me.

They're not excluded, they're just renamed. It's pretty easy to tell that they are Nazis.

How many shorts are there? I have access to slightly better internet so I was considering catching up with them, but I want to make sure I have time.

That's not the point. If they want to Market the Cartoon and the movies to Germany they can't use the Nazi. This is Prob the main reason it was changed.
