Worth reading. As good as Heinberg/Cheung? Give me your sage counsel, O Bendis Board, this I beg.
Kid: You're not the real Santa Claus!
Bullock: Sure I am. Wanna see my gun?
I liked the Patriot and Hawkeye issues. The others were a bit more iffy.
The first and last issues by Brubaker and Fraction were good. The rest were a mix of BAD (the Cassie issue comes to mind) and mediocre.
You'd be better off finding those two issue in a dollar bin, I think.
Yeah, it was good. My favorites were Bru's Patriot ish, Reed's Hulkling, Aguire-Sacasa's Wiccan and Speed, and Fraction's Hawkeye. Those were all really great one-off issues. I liked the other two issues a lot, too--those four stuck out in my mind in particular.
Some stories were really really good, some where just mediocre. The good definitely outshines the not-quite-as-good. Easily worth a read.
The Hawkeye issue is one of my favorite comics of the year. The rest is ok to crap.
The only bad one is the Kevin Grevioux written issue, the same guy that writes New Warriors so I suppose it's no surprise it was shit.
The rest are all pretty good, though overall it felt rather average. That was bound to happen though, since none of the writers could really do a whole lot with the characters since I'm sure they dont want to shake the apple cart until Heinberg comes back (which will likely be 2010 or so).
