Not even close dude. I'd say he's like Harlan Ellison if Harlan Ellison was actually a nice guy, but I know Howard would hate that because there's no love lost between him and Harlan.

So I'll say this: I sat in on his panel. It was ten times as edifying as the Bendis/Kirkman debate. Adam Hughes was there but even he was just listening to Howard speak for half of it. Thirty minutes in I put down my laptop because he'd given me more than enough material. I was so exhausted I could barely stand at this point. And I just listened. In that way when you have a really, really good teacher and you can just totally immerse yourself in everything they're saying.

    Howard crackles.

i think steven's creator credentials outweigh his cbr column. granted (pun) , he does the column more than his published books, but i'd still put his 30 plus years as a creator versus his 10 or less as a net columnist.

i've had steven on before, and he was awesome

Thanks for posting that! I'm still new to word balloon, just found it through the bendis tapes. Darrow seemed a lot different than I imagined. I thought in my head he was a quiet/reserved dude(scince he doesn't have an online presence and you never really see articles about him or see him promoting himself online), but he came off as pretty corky and maybe even a tad uncomfortable in the interview. He's awesome all the same and a shaolin cowboy animated film, more Awesomeness!

I saw someone mentioned Mark Bagley a few pages ago. I think Bags's version of Spider-Man is this generation of reader's definitive Spider-Man. It would be interesting to hear about his early days at marvel, his exerpience drawing Amazing Spider-Man and Ultimate Spider-Man, and his current gig drawing the big three at the Distinguished Competition. I know I'd be downloading that show in a heartbeat.

Chuck Vs Mal: Two Geeks. One podcast. Many insults.

I apologize if this was already posted, but G. Willow Wilson would be a great interview (Cairo, Air, new Vixen mini). She has a fantastic voice for the funny books.
