Getting the Dirty Harry Blu-Ray boxed set for my birthday!

So I've only seen bits and pieces of the Dirty Harry films when i was younger and my grandpa would watch them on cable TV. Never watched any from start to finish and I barely remember a thing from any of them.

But I'm on a bit of a Clint Eastwood kick and decided to tell my parents to get me this.

Am I in for a treat? What should I expect? I like that the boxed set comes with a replica of his wallet and badge!!!

I got the non Blu-Ray box set when it came out and I had a great time revisiting all of these films.

Damn, I gotta check these out as well. Haven't seen 'em in ages. The first one is a classic, of course. I remember liking a few of the follow-ups, but I vaguely remember the quality going down as the series continued. Haven't imdb'd it yet to refresh my memory. All I can remember is that one of the later ones had a farting bulldog.

I reckon that'd just make Jonny Z love it more.

Dirty Harry is every bit as awesome as it always was.
Magnum Force is still pretty cool.
The Enforcer and Sudden Impact are okay.
    The Dead Pool is garbage.

EDIT: All of this is IMO, of course.
    Mileage may vary.

    Heh.

I thought Magnum Force held up pretty well and enjoyed it (young Robert Urich, pre-Starsky and Hutch David Soul and Tim Matheson), the Enforcer had it moments, I'm still a sucker for Sudden Impact (first one I saw in the theaters when I was a kid) and The Dead Pool...well...again, it has its moments AND has a young Jim Carrey and Liam Neeson AND G-n-R cameo!

As long as there are lots of close-ups of Clint's face gritting his teeth, then I'm all set!!!

I saw Dirty Harry again last year after seeing Zodiac. Still a great flick, but it was interesting seeing it now knowing the context of when it first came out.

    Enjoy the set!!!
