I'd have waited for a good copy. I, stupidly, care what they look like.
My LCS's shipment of SUM was damaged today and so they didn't put them out. They had some creasing along the spine.
I told the clerk that I didn't care and I'd take a copy anyway. He seemed somewhat shocked.
Would you have waited until Friday or taken the damaged book?

Spoiler:
I'd take the damaged book. At least in that case. If the comics were all torn to shreds or something I'd probably wait. But a crease? Meh... I'd rather have my books and read 'em.
Sum?
What is SUM?
Honestly, for me it depends on the book. If it's Amazing Spider-Man or a title I've been collecting...I'd probably wait. But for new or indie comics...naw, just pick it up.
A. As long as all of the pages/content is there and it's not completely mangled I don't care. I'm sure some of the purists among us would be brought to tears by the condition of my collections.
B. What is SUM?

I tell myself that I only read comics, not collect or sell them. But when they're creased, I freak out. Don't know why.
I'd say "I'm probably just going to recycle it when I'm done with it anyway." Just to see them cry or throw up. Or refuse to sell me any more comics.
