Fans will just accept this. Because fans always buy these big events. So Marvel upped the price, knowing people will buy it. Not me though. Not me.
Or is it just me?
Looking at the October solicitations for Marvel and DC it suddenly dawned on me:
DC has their events (in this case Final Crisis) set at $3-99 as does Marvel (in their cases Secret Invasion and Marvel Zombies 3), but DC has the page count at 40 while Marvel has it at 32 which is the same as the page count for the monthly $2-99 titles of both companies.
Why is this? And if the page count is the same at Marvel then why charge it on what are their guaranteed top sellers for the year?
Should the fans take this or should I just accept that this is a business and I just gonna have to live with it?

Luckily I could only afford Final Crisis or Secret Invasion and went with Final Crisis since I pick up a friend's copy for him so I can read it before handing over.
But Marvel Zombies I know I will buy because I have all their other appearances (yes, including Black Panther which is why I now buy the title.)
Eh, I dont know if I consider myself "ripped off", but I do HIGHLY dislike Marvel's bullshit reason for upping the price on Secret Invasion, that being the cardstock cover which is complete and utter bullshit. It's a stupid gimmick, adds nothing to the actual comic and is a bullshit reason for upping the price.
Now, that being said, I'm not as bothered by it, because I'm buying LESS Secret Invasion tie-ins than I am Final Crisis. The Final Crisis ones are just generally more appealing to me due to the creative talent they have on them. I mean, Geoff Johns, Greg Rucka, Grant Morrison....not a bad trio to have handling your event tie-ins. Compare that to some of the Marvel guys handling the Secret Invasion tie-ins? Far too hit and miss or unknown to me (Joe Posanski!? Heroes!? ugh).
Though I am looking forward to the Matt Fraction/Doug Brathwaite Thor mini.
Absolutely. They owe me man!
Just another reason to trade wait. If they're going to use gimmicks that increase production costs such as cardstock covers/multiple covers/etc. etc., then they don't deserve my money.
i want to read the comic book. i pay for the comic book

I'm buying Secret Invasion and almost all tie-ins because I enjoy reading them. I'm not buying Final Crisis at all. Never liked the whole multiverse thing.
I don't buy a ton of comics so the cost doesn't bother me.
