Well, I don't know about Carpenter's opening act, but nevertheless...

My experience has been that the backlash against the movie was so hard that I usually hear it dismissed these days. You know, "It wasn't scary" or "those kids were stupid" or whatever.

Oh, and I gotta mention The Fog.

Love, love, LOVE the tone of this one. Scripting's pretty b-grade, but it's still got great moments, and also some of Carpenter's best music.
