TV Tuners for PCs - Help?

The Wife and I axed cable, opting to hook up our HD antenna and "be content" with our 22 over-the-air HD channels. Sure, 8 of the 22 are "Puh-raaayz Jesus!" channels, but I digress...

Anyway, we're look at options for recording our favorite network shows seeing how we had return our DVR. She suggested a HD TiVo...but I was thinking about a TV Tuner card for our PC. I could record shows to the desktop and stream them to our X-Box 360, right?

Does anyone have a tv tuner for digital signals? How well do they work?

I had a tuner in my last pc and with the free dvr software, I loved it.

I run MythTV with a pcHDTV HD5500 tuner for my 4 HD OTA channels. It runs on Linux though, so no porting to the 360. But it works very well. Needs about a 3.0 GHz processor to run HDTV smoothly.

Never tried any Windows DVR projects though.

my pcdvr is currently down, awaiting an overhaul. I didn't have an HDTV card, but the one suggestion I would make is BeyondTV software by snapstream. It's worth the 40 bucks or so. I believe you can get a free trial and see if you like it before paying for it.

I need to build another pcdvr. Gonna have to save up tho.

I'm waiting for a new comp with a tv tuner to arrive this week, so I'm sure I'll quiz you this weekend.

I have not, but I started looking at UPnP media servers the other day. I love to mess around with stuff like this.
