Anybody watch Supernatural?

Is it actually good or typical teen CW stuff?

A bit of a cross between the two really. Some episodes are really good and have an X-Files feel to them.

It's nowhere near as teeny as some of the CW stuff -- ie Smallville.

Season Three was a mixed bag -- but I don't think the writers' strike helped.

Season One started off almost as a monster of the week-type series but, as the mythology grew through the second half of s1 and s2 it got a lot better.

That's cool. I'm trying to decide what to watch after I finish The X-Files. I'm thinking this, BSG(but I might wait until everything is out on DVD) and The Wire(which I'm waiting for the last season to come out on DVD.)

It's very good. The overall story always progresses, they do a good job with supporting cast and with recurring characters and the brothers have good chemistry. The kid from Gilmore Girls isnt a great actor, but he's good enough that he doesnt hurt the show. Jensen Ackles from Dark Angel is great as the smartass for the other lead. Its biggest flaw is its timeslot, it always seems to be matched up against powerhouse shows (Grey's Anatomy, Lost, The Office, American Idol). It has had its fair share of subpar episodes, but even those are better than a lot of shows on tv. It's worth taking a look if you can get them for cheap.

its not as good as the Wire, but they are so different that its not really fair to compare them (not that you were)

It does change direction somewhat after the end of season two.

DARK ANGEL is a must avoid. truly terrible imo.
