I think Weezer hasn't made a good album since Pinkerton.
I think Green Day is very good, but in "growing up" they kinda trashed everything their old albums stood for.
With all the talk of Weezer's horrible new album, I thought it'd be fun to draw comparisons with Green Day's new album by their secret name Foxboro Hottubs "Stop, Drop, And Roll" as there are many. Click their myspace to hear 4 songs.

In multiple interviews, I've heard Rivers comment on his admiration of Green Day and how he compares. And it's laughable when you hear the 2 and Weezer is clearly inferior, commercially and artistically.
I could go on and on, but what do you guys think?

Weezer's new album is way better than Foxboro Hot Tubs'.
I like Green Day but they're just as uneven as Weezer in putting out good albums.
i like weezer's new album is way way better than this.
I am going to have to say that neither is good.
Weezer's new album is simply awesome. So, there!

I didnt consider myself into weezer save for what was on mtv. I got the red album and its average, but if you get the deluxe edition its good. That said, i gotta get their first album now. As for foxboro, havent heard it yet to compare. (not really sure why weezer was really needed to plug a green day album, as opposed to saying the FBHT album was really good).
I enjoyed FBHT, but then I kind of dig the garage rock sound of it.
Still need to hear the new Weezer album
Anyone remember shortly after "American Idiot" by GD came out, Weezer did a photo shoot in a mag where Rivers copied Green Day's look EXACTLY?! I mean he had the eyelihner, crazy gelled hair, skinny tie, shirt, bewildered look. I mean he INTENTIONALLY copied their look. (Can anyone find this pic?)
That's when I realized something was seriously wrong with this guy. I figured he'd be suicidal soon when he couldn't achieve the success they had.
Other weirdness:
1. "Greatest Man That Ever Lived" very similar to "Jesus of Suburbia" and "Homecoming" by Green Day
2. Lyric "I don't care!" in song Pork and Beans is a lyrical theme used recently and frequently on GD's last 2 albums.
3. Having other band members sing and write on new album, which GD did recently on American Idiot.
4. "Green Day" name dropped in Weezer song "El Scorcho."
Weezer is to Green Day as Rolling Stones is to The Beatles: The band that always follows, copies, and falls short, never succeeding where the other did.
