I think that they should make Thor and Captain America and then the Avengers movie then the Ant-man movie. That's gonna be the only way to generate enough interest in the character for stand alone.

Get ACTORS. They don't need to be as big as they are in the comic. Thor needs to be well-built, but he doesn't need to be a steroid monster.
    agreed.

But Stevenson has been known to do very physical roles, like the aforementioned Titus Pullo, and Dagonet in King Arthur.

Plus, I want to hug him. Nothing like a Punisher I want to hug.

    I AM WATCHING.

So he colored his hair a few tints darker and might have work contacts, big deal. Where did you hear he wore "lifts" as Castle though? See, in the movies they have this little thing where it doesn't really matter how short or tall a person is and I've never heard of actors wearing lifts before. Hell, they make Sly look 6'4" and it's all camera. As has been said here a million times, height has no meaning in film.

yes, but also lord of the rings (eomer) where he did a decent acting job, and dealt with the effects work.

The problem now with an Avengers movie, is that Captain America, whoever is chosen, must be young and big enough, but must also be able to command more presence and attention when he's in the room than Robert Downey Jr. can. It won't be easy for somebody to do that. I can't think of anybody famous who fits the bill, so it would have to be somebody unknown, adding to the challenge. (Brendan Fraser would have been my pick a few years ago)

HHH can be Thor, as far as I'm concerned. Thor needs to be able to yell and needs to be bigger than the biggest guy by a lot. He doesn't need to win any Oscars for supporting actor in Avengers.

You can bet the bank that everything concerning this and the solo films is being fast tracked, with all eyes on the Hulk now.
For Cap: Gerard Butler? or maybe Tom Cruise? though with Cruise the bitching would have no end. But Matt Damon sounds good as well.
    Thor: HHH
Ant Man: I like Hugh Laurie. Brad Pitt could also do twisted and disturbed doctor.
Hawkeye: if really in the movie... maybe Paul Walker or Colin Farrell
Iron Man: Downey Jr. of course
    Wasp: Claire Forlani maybe
    Black Widow: Angelina Jolie

I'm not quite content with my list. first of all, there sure are better picks for the latter half and second. too many stars.
