Cast The Avengers Movie

This should be fun. Assuming Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Jackson as Fury and Norton as Hulk, who would you cast as the rest? My list:

Captain America: Ryan Gosling. I know what most of you will say--too skinny. But remember--everyone said the same thing about Michael Keaton for Batman. And can you imagine him sharing a scene with RDJ? Fucking awesome.

Hank Pym: Sam Rockwell. Great actor that would blend well with the cast, and give Pym's neurosis a very interesting turn.

Thor: Kevin McKidd. I know he was rumored to do it but now word is that they're casting younger and want him for Loki, but fuck that. He'd be great in the role, and Iron Man shows that you don't have to make a character younger for people to want to see it.

Janet Pym: Not sure yet.

Make the movie about their discovery of Captain America, and the Avengers versus Red Skull. Then use the movie to spin out a Captain America movie and anything else. Captain America won't sell overseas as itself, but as a spinoff from a huge blockbuster, it'll have legs.

Hugh Laurie as Pym is brilliant.

A giant Dr. House smacking the shit out of villains might be the moment that the medium of cinema was created for.

Personally, I'd really prefer if Hulk wasn't included in any Avengers movie. He never seemed to fit to me.

Laurie seems a little too typecast to me. I feel like I'd be watching House, not Pym.

Hulk would be a great adversary for the team to go up against.

The problem now with an Avengers movie, is that Captain America, whoever is chosen, must be young and big enough, but must also be able to command more presence and attention when he's in the room than Robert Downey Jr. can. It won't be easy for somebody to do that. I can't think of anybody famous who fits the bill, so it would have to be somebody unknown, adding to the challenge. (Brendan Fraser would have been my pick a few years ago)

HHH can be Thor, as far as I'm concerned. Thor needs to be able to yell and needs to be bigger than the biggest guy by a lot. He doesn't need to win any Oscars for supporting actor in Avengers.

You can bet the bank that everything concerning this and the solo films is being fast tracked, with all eyes on the Hulk now.

I'd love to see Viggo Mortenson as an Ultimate-style Thor, but I don't know if he wants to do another fantasy movie.

HHH the wrestler? If so I think I disagree. I love thor and if they want to have an epic thor solo movie I think they should get an actual actor. I don't know who- maybe the guy from rome as someone suggested earlier.

Fans ALWAYS suggest wrestlers for these roles, and it's a TERRIBLE idea-- I'm glad the studios ignore it.

Get ACTORS. They don't need to be as big as they are in the comic. Thor needs to be well-built, but he doesn't need to be a steroid monster.
