2nd Print Variants - Required to "Complete" your collection.

I was thinking about this with all the new covers they slap on 2nd printings.

I have an almost complete run of Amazing Spider-Man; been reading his adventures since 1982 and have worked hard to try and complete this run, but do I need those 2nd print covers to really have the complete collection?

Look, it's either this or work!

i think i'm the only 'yes' at this point.

but i would argue that the *latest* 2nd print covers that Marvel have been doing - where they just reprint inner artwork on the front - are passable.

the Marvel Zombies ones? that's what i'm talking about. when the artwork is something especially created for a cover, and not just taken from the content.
    Spoiler:

I was thinking about the Back in Black covers by Adi Granov, etc.

Considering I've bought the comic and HC of somethings...definitely not outside the realm of possibility.

nah, well i figure if you're gonna get the 'whole set' of something, just stick to your guns.

hell, even a 'complete' collection of ONLY the second printings of a mini / arc is sufficient IMO.

so, a collection of ONLY the first printings, regardless of following printings, is certainly 'complete'

I really like the Granov one so I think I'll pick it up.

That's different. There you are buying something in a lasting format. Buying a comic just because it has a different cover is getting taken unless you really, really love that cover.
