Hey Dave! Great Ish! It seems so weird to me to see you illustrating someone else's words. It's like somehow Echo was speaking with a brooklyn accent, when I've always heard her with a midwestern type voice, you know what I mean?
I was trying to remember if I'd ever read anything you'd collaborated on with BMB (other than the covers for Alias I mean) and I couldn't come up with any. Are there other pieces of his writing and your pencils, or is this the first? Was it fun?
Also working with a colorist for the first time in a while (I'm guessing). How was that? One facet of your work I've always admired immensely is the use of watercolors and mixed media. Was it a strange limiting yourself to just pencils (and I'm guessing you inked as well, since you dont have an inker listed)?
Anyway, nice stuff. great to see you and Bendis together. Thanks!

Spoiler:
This for me was evocative of what I remember reading Daredevil was like so many years ago. There are specific panels of this book that I just wanted to clip out and blow up.
heck there whole pages!
What made me smile most however was seeing a thickness to your lines that really showed Shy Creatures touch believe it or not. It also harkened back to Circle of Blood a bit.
And Brian - man that dude can make two people standing and talking move with a real energy. This issue combined with the last are tutorials on who to get characters to interact not just drive plot points.
I appreciated your insight on the Bendis Board as well. Maybe folks will give a read and realize how much thought you put into crafting a single issue.
Excellent David.
This was awesome. Finally, a reference to Logan and Echo's encounter in Vision Quest! The fight with the skrull was awesome, it was the type of slam-bang action that I love in superhero books. Hawkeye wearing a mc chris shirt = sweet. Echo wearing an Animal Doctor shirt =That was great. Thanks for the excellent issue.

i went on a rant about the issue, but i saw that everything has been addressed already in other threads so please disregard this post

I hope that feeling passes, because I love how it turned out. After reading the new Kabuki series, I forgot how visceral your work can be. And I love the fact that there's a complex intelligence working behind the punchier surface; the borrowed images add a lot of depth to this story on a conceptual and visual level. It makes for a thinking person's superhero comic, which is really the only kind I like.

Man, this issue was awesome - to see Mack's pen/ink art (a la Circle of Blood) and Bendis' script takes me back to the Caliber days. Too bad they aren't doing a Jinx/Kabuki crossover...
