Cap only had that "triangle" shield in 1 issue. After that his Golden Age shield was the same as it is now except it had more BLUE in it:

    Here's issue 2:

    Well, I'll be darned!!!

Hmm . . . not to be argumentative (especially considering that you certainly appear to know what the heck you're talkin' about!), but I'm sure Cap appeared in MANY other comics with the "triangular" shield (though they may not have been titled "Captain America"), otherwise, why would so many (including Bowen's depiction) consider his triangular shield to be reflective of his "WWII" appearance??

Hey, what do I know (not much!). To me . . . Bucky is a "WWII" era character and since Bowen's WWII Cap statue is what it is, I'd be looking for a cover of Bucky and Cap with his triangular shield (though from what you've pointed out, I may be looking for quite a while!!).

Cap and Hardwoods FOREVER!! American Classics that endure the test of time!!

I was thinking the same thing, Captain! But, what's a guy to do?

It was a really good issue too. ENJOY IT!

And most of the triangle shield Cap stories have been told in the modern era, but "as if" it happened back then. Cap's 1st appearance was in Cap #1 and the pic of #2 is right up there. It was probably changed quickly as not to confuse Cap with The Shield who Cap was obviously inspired by:

Also - it's kinda backed up here:

Repeat the "serenity prayer" - continuously, I suppose.

Hey pmpkn - thanks for the insight - even though it's now makin' me look at my WWII Cap statue differently

That is freakin' AWESOME! Thanks for the suggestion. Might not be bad to have this one and the 65th Anniversary one as background for a complete Cap and Bucky display.

Great cover TT. I knew there would be more modern covers with the 2 of 'em.

    NOW... on to Quicksliver!
