why isn't electro a bigger villain to spidey than he is now?

yeah, I kinda liked the story. Though the end was a bit wishy washy.
edit: this was the one who made pete think his neck was broken right? end of first part was awesome, but I dnt know, something about the second part felt like a puss out of sorts.

I love that arc and yes your correct

The second one with him and Doc Ock was really good too

Given what Brubaker's done with Mister Fear, I'm sure he (or a writer as talented) can set up Electro as a major menace. However, I'll wait until a major writer has a good plan for upgrading the villain.

Nice timing! My son and I read the 1st Electro story this morning (we are reading the early ones on the ASM DVD-Rom, it seems pretty kid-appropriate so far).

The thing I like about the first one is that he's pretty crafty, he does his own testing and figuring out how to harness power, and he does try to take over a "detention house." That's the one where Pete is desperate for money so he fakes some shots for JJJ that make it look like Electro is Spider-man.

(Also, I have been annoyed by how neurotic Betty Brant is in those early ones and this one has a lot where she steps up and supports Peter during Aunt May's latest illness.)

You know the best Vulture story? Of course you don't because there probably isn't one. But one that stands out for me is the one in Spectacular called Funeral Arrangements. The Vulture was dying due to the effects of his flying suit and was on a rampage to settle any and all outstanding business. Plenty of action but at the root was a scared old man lashing out because of something he'd done to himself. And Spider-man stopped him, but he knew what it was that was happening too. There's your story folks. For the record, DeMatties on Spectacular was the place to be at the time. No disrespect to Amazing at the time, but the better stories in my opinion were in Spectacular.

There's a great one in PAD Friendly where Vulture fights Spider-man at Deb Whitman's book signing and wants Spider-man to kill him too.
