Thread: Tomb of Dracula!

Looks cool. If you wanted to show a bit more of the suit, you could always have one arm down and holding his cape back on that side, parting it down the middle.

I just don't think this will work ......

It's too simple .... & i realize this character has a following ... but it just seems too generic to me (not Randy's fault more in the original design).... I mean SS took some risks with their Blade Vs. Dracula piece.... but they pulled it off in the end... I think it may be harder for Randy with this particular character if he sticks with Marvel's old design

As good as Randy's sketch is I'm afraid that's all it would be, a head and a cape.

I think the statue would look less generic and more representative of the comic and character if you could see more of the costume. When I think of "Tomb of Dracula" I think of Marvel getting on board with the Christopher Lee Hammer Horror fad in the 1970s. I think the statue would benefit from a very 1970s feel. That might involve: an ill fitting dark coloured suit (ie: trouser hems cut a bit too short), elevated slip on shoes, that crazy red sash over the waistcoat, open mouth, lots of fangs, slick back hair etc.
I think this could be a very good piece.
Sketch of the base is great. Any chance he could be holding a lady victim and looking up to the sky in an "I'm about to bite her" pose?

After looking at these images, I'd have to NOT go with that sketch pose unless it's showing more suit than it appears to be. And I keep picturing the cape swirl too.

Ah hell, who cares if it kinda looks like the diamond select statue or whatever, yours will look better anyways.

I dig Randy's idea. The heck with showing the suit, it's all about the cap and I like the space saving idea, but honestly it just looks better to me. Go with your idea Randy!

I like the sketch idea also . He is DRACULA he doesn't need action poses. The face partially covered by the cape also works. His drama can be in stillness. Just his presence speaking for itself. The sketch really does work. Reminds me of big John (not sure if he did Dracula or not)

Not a fan at all...nice design all the same...I just don't care for the character.
