I've never gotten the Bill Paxton/Bill Pullman thing. They don't really look that much alike, and I don't feel like they play similar roles (though I can't name more than 3 movies Bill Pullman's been in).

Is it just the similar names?

I think the biggest thing is that neither makes a strong enough impression on most views for them to make a firm identification of them.
