I used to. The difficult thing is that people are never willing to believe you're telling the truth.
Like a wrong number, but through IM? My AIM name isn't really a common one, so I'm not sure how someone would get it.
But this guy sent me an IM like "Man, I can't get AIM to work well today. -Terry"
and I said "Sorry?"
And he said "I'm singing off now. I hope things go well for Leslie tomorrow. -Terry"
And I said "I don't think I am who you think I am. I don't know a Terry or Leslie."
And he said "Ha Ha". And then I just closed the conversation.
Get anything like that?
It's because it's not like on the phone. They can't hear you sounding differently, so they think you're just screwing with them.
"Mike, quit screwing around and tell your little brother to call me."
"I'm telling you, I'm not Mike."
"Bullshit, Mike. Just go get your brother. Hurry up."
yeah, I usually have to end up putting them on my ignore list.
Not in the longest time. But back in the early 2000's all the freaking time.
Spoiler:
Maybe I should've been a dick and said "Oh yeah? Well I hope Leslie has AIDS" and then clicked ignore. So I'd get the guy who he thought I was in trouble.
