Oh, the Thing was great. I was so sad when the title got cancelled.

This was in my very first super hero story for Marvel, the third story I'd ever sold-- and my first chance to stick Spidey in-- so, you bet I took it!

Don't know if you folks know this, but this story, along with many others, was collected in New Warriors Classic 2, which came out a few weeks back. It was a good laugh.

VENOM SUPERSIZE #1

My FIRST ever Spider-Man story! And it was drawn by Mark Bagley! Not a bad way to start, right?

Dan! I had no idea you wrote this! This is one of my favorite Spidey stories every!

I was 13 at the time this issue came out, during Planet of the Symbiotes, and wasn't yet paying attention to who the writer was. (But I of course loved it for Bags, natch). Planet of the Symbiotes may have been the suck, but your story was incredible. It pretty much made buying the whole series worthwhile. Really was a touching piece. Cudos man, that's a great one!
