Thanks for posting and welcome to the board.
If you are in San Diegon next week, stop by and say hi.
My booth is 2729.
This is my first post. Had to register when I found a David Mack moderated board. You the man, David.
Where you are based.
Santa Barbara, CA
What you do.
I am a curator at a local museum.
What you like to do.
Comics, blogging, reading, tennis, travel, art consumption, living life with healthy doses of chillin'.
Are you an artist? What kind of art do you like?
Not really. I like to sketch and occasionally paint in oils, but I am not really good though. I have been experimenting with collage. It's all for fun and to feed the soul, kinda thing.
Are you a student?
Not these days.
What age you are?
33
When did you first start reading Kabuki?
Not since the last two or three years. I got introduced to it via David's mainstream Marvel work at first, and was immediately pulled in.
What are your favorite parts of the Kabuki story?
Alchemy has been beautiful. It's non-linear storytelling (if you can call it that) meshes so well with the art and composition. It's the kind of comic I can show others who poo-poo the industry and get a reaction akin to a 180-degree turn on their part.
Or anything else that comes to mind.
Met David once in LA earlier this year and was amazed at how candid and accessible to his fans that he was.

Around 1998.
What are your favorite parts of the Kabuki story?
I love showing "Metamorphosis" to my non-comics reading friends and family, just to watch their head pop off - "This is a comic book?" "The Alchemy" has been the most personal for me.
Or anything else that comes to mind.
Totally psyched about the "The Alchemy of Art" DVD - I've been working on it all night!

about 3 years ago, when I got a few freebies at the Canadian National Expo from David. it was like a drug. I bought just about everything he had over the next 2 days, and since then I've found everything I didn't buy then in various other places. I love everything
What are your favorite parts of the Kabuki story?
I love the art. I love how non-traditional the newer stories are as far as the style of the panels and things. ALso, I love that Kabuki is a strong female character, without being built like a porn star.

When did you first start reading Kabuki?
Right after I picked up Mr Mack's arc with Joe Q on Daredevil. So that had to be around spring 2001.
What are your favorite parts of the Kabuki story?
All of it. Mostly how the typography is used as part of the art. The story are great too. I like how it tends to get your mind free and how it has a mythology feel.
Or anything else that comes to mind.
David Mack has been a huge influence on me as a student, artist, and professional. I remember showing one of my illustration teachers in school David's stuff and it blew his mind especailly since it was in a comic book
I live in Valparaiso, In. I work in Chicago as an autoworker for Ford. I'm in school for Information Technology. I enjoy playing with my kids, reading, sports, and watching movies. I first read Kabuki when it was published by image and Parts of a Whole was running through Daredevil. It is one of my favorite comic storylines. I just picked up the new Icon series from Mr. Mack's table at Wizard World Chicago. He took the time to sign each issue and talked to me for several minutes. I came away very impressed with him as a person, not to mention as an artist. I enjoyed the new series very much and I am now going to go back and pick up the stories I have missed. This is my first post on the board. I am looking forward to future issues of Kabuki and also Mr. Mack's unannounced new marvel project. Here's hoping for that Echo series we talked about!
