Oh, and I'll be at your panel, Thom.
Holy crap I can't wait for this con. Just not looking forward to all this shiz I'll be lugging around. For all of you who actually live in NYC, I am envious.
I made a movie! Here is the trailer! Help us spread the word! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qkoKhPmGa4

Just a heads up to Thomas, if you wanted to save a few bucks, and you don't have a lot of bags to haul, you could get on the AirTrain at JFK (which costs $5 when you get to the end) and take it to the Howard Beach subway stop (which is the last stop one direction on the AirTrain). Then grab the A-train heading toward Manhattan at Howard Beach, and get off in Brooklyn at either the Jay Street-Borough Hall stop or the High St stop (made famous by Mike D in the Beastie Boys track 'Root Down'!) and take a much shorter and much cheaper cab ride to the spot you're going.
If you decided to try this then buy a $7 Metro card when you get to the end of the AirTRain, you swipe that for your $5 AirTrain charge, then swipe it again for another $2 at the Howard Beach subway station. (If you think you guys will be traveling back and forth from Manhattan mostly by subway that weekend, then get a card with more money on it)
Just a suggestion if you want to save some money.
Hmm, I have no idea. The panel schedule lists panels starting at 11am on Friday, so I guess those are open while the floor may only be open to professionals and people with VIP passes in the morning.
I guess calling the NYCC info hotline would help answer that question. It sure would suck if the panels were closed to the public until 4pm.
Rock! It'll be a lot of fun.
Dude, that's a great suggestion. Thanks. I think I'll bring one suitcase and one sports bag. Planning to ship books home via USPS the day after the con.
If someone wants to meet me at the airport and go to Powell's that way, I can bribe you with lots of Swiss chocolate.![]()
