Dude!
Yes, I am 35 years old, and I do not own a suit. Never had the need for one.
Even on my own wedding, I was more 'dress casual' than 'formally attired'.
So, with my retroactive raise burning a hole in my bank account (and a wedding coming up), I decided to go out and buy me and my hubby a suit.
I was initially intimidated by all the finery going on around me, and the people dashing about with tape measures, and pins in their mouths. After awhile, I really kind of dug the whole experience.
The joy for me, was watching my husband transform before my eyes. He will always be my sexpot, but once I saw him all dressed up, it almost brought a tear to my eye.
He was worried about the money, but I said "It's my fucking bonus/raise, and whatver you want, I am paying for."
The salesman found us to be utterly hilarious and was asking us all sorts of questions about us being married ('did you guys take one of the other guy's names..? how does that work...? are you guys going to be on seperate credit cards, or do you pay on one....?)
Matthew looked absolutely amazing, and I even sprung for the 200 dollar shoes, because they just made the outfit for him.
I, myself went with a grey pinstriped Calvin Klein suit. Matt had the whole 'earth tone' thing going on that really complimented him.
The shirt/silk tie that the salesman selected for us was totally perfect. I even got cufflinks (something I have never owned) because i am a sucker for accessories.
Then, it was down to the alterations, and that was weird.
We went to the register to pay for our two new suits, ties, cufflinks, new shoes, and the alterations.
It came to just over $1100.00.
I can't wait to get them back next week. And I will be sure to post 'before and after' pics of the two of us.
You won't be able to handle the sexy!!

I'm 41 and I don't own a suit. I need to get one though.
I had to go yesterday and buy basically a new wardrobe for my internship. They expect business casual while up until this point I've always dressed homeless casual.
funny thing is, that Matthew always wants us to look alike.
He wanted matching suits.
I told him "Honey, we are a couple--not twins"
Then I let him pick out his outfit first....and then got the complete opposite.
