Got an invite to an Apple "hiring event"

I just got this message in my email:

Greetings from all of us at the St John's Town Center Apple Store! We have reviewed your resume that you submitted to Apple and you have been selected to attend our invitation-only Mac Specialist Interview Seminar for St John's Town Center.

An Apple Mac Specialist is a sales associate representing the Apple Brand, and
is at the core of the customer's experience. Mac Specialists find out each
customer's needs and recommend the best solutions based on those needs. Does this sound like something you already do in your spare time?

GOOD! Here's what you need to know:

    When: October 14th, 2007
    Time: 7pm
    Check in 15 min. prior

    Where:
Apple Store St John's Town Center

Note: When you arrive, please let someone know you are there for the hiring
    event!

What: Spend about an hour with us, learning about the company, the Store, the Mac Specialist position, career opportunities, the interview process, and the hiring
    timeline.

    Ask questions get answers.

Oh yeah, and have some fun...this is Apple!
This is my question, to you guys who know a lot about the store or work/have worked there: do I need an assload of knowledge out of the box? It sounds like they are trying to bypass any sort of "training" by hiring the people that know the most, and of course there will be (sorry to generalize) Apple nerds there that can easily beat me out. I do know some things about the company and what they sell, though. Especially the iPod.

I do realize this is mostly for hiring seasonal people, which is fine by me. Plus it's at the same mall as my GameStop, which would make it hellaciously convenient, as I am looking for another part-time job after having to pay a bit over a thousand dollars to fix my car. I'm just wondering what I should expect going in, and hoping that everyone's not all fake and junk.

EDIT: I should say that I regularly point out the good points and bad on systems that I don't even have at GS all the time, so there's that.

    Thanks.
Why do you still have signatures turned on?

I would get that job for the discount alone.

iPod, iMac...shit I'd just have them pay me in product, then quit.

I'm pretty sure they have a training program, how thorough, I have no idea.

I'm pretty sure you've already put more thought into this than they will. The Christmas season is approaching and they need warm bodies. I suspect a basic understand of Apple and the lack of a moronic look on your face will be enough for you....

That's the million dollar question, and I think you should lead with that in your interview.
