There was a character from 52 called "Everyman". Creepy guy, could take someone appearence. I'm betting it was him.

    And!

Birds Of Prey #110 $2.99 –I’ve never been a big fan of Huntress. She always seemed like an attempt to do an “extreme!” version of Batgirl. This was mostly her, so it had a couple of strikes against it. Not bad though. I liked the look at why some characters didn’t work with the team. Funny!

Checkmate Vol 2 #18 $2.99 – Nice to see this crossing over all over the place. Checkmate should be right there in the middle of everything. Really curious to see where this whole thing with the squad and Waller is going.

Countdown #32 $2.99 – I thought this was a really good issue. Most of it was a little more on the fun side, the art was nice, all that. I’m still worried about what they are doing to Mary, but hey… Crime Syndicate! Yay!

Countdown To Mystery #1 $3.99 – I love Dr Fate, but they never seem to know what to do with him. Not sure if I’m going keep up with this.

Ex Machina #30 $2.99 – Another good issue. I find myself liking the stuff set in the past more than the present.

Flash Vol 2 #232 $2.99 – Liking this so much. It’s really refreshing to see a book wth kids in it that really act like kids. That feels really rare to me. And they look like kids too. Still feels like the Flash!

Green Arrow Black Canary Wedding Special #1 $3.99 – Really good all around. Amanda Conner may be my favorite artist these days. She just does it all so well. Look at the reactions on everyone with their invites! Look at Superman talking about marriage! (She made him look so honest and hopeful and happy) Look at the big splash page with Buddy and Ellen, Barda and Scott, Clark and Lois! It’s wonderful! The writing was also really solid. They made fun of Snapper Carr, so nothing bad about that. The ending? Yeah, someone snuck him out. Everyman? Maybe. I was really hoping for a happy ending.

Shadowpact #17 $2.99 – Good stuff. I like it when this book is more on the silly side. Keep it silly!

Superman Batman #40 $2.99 – I had no idea Orion even had a wife. Huh! Batman is such a stud.

Tales Of The Sinestro Corps Presents Parallax #1 (Sinestro Corps War Tie-In) $2.99 – Interesting and a rather sweet ending. I thought it was a cool set-up.

Madman Atomic Comics #4 $2.99 Beautiful, fun, and weird.

Captain America Vol 5 #30 (The Initiative Tie-In) $2.99 –Huh. Saw it coming!

World War Hulk #4 Regular David Finch Cover $3.99 –Get to the fight already! Geez! And when did Tony become such a ninja? I couldn’t see him holding his own against those guys in the hand to hand.

Well, maybe not a Skrull, but it was obviously some guy from an alien race with nothing but soft tissue in the neck area or there is no way she could have shoved an arrow all the way through his neck. And hopefully that's a killing wound on whatever alien race that "Ollie" is from and not just akin to a splinter. I guessing Martian. Probably one of those white ones.

umbrella academy - i've dubbed this one "the royal tennenbaums meets hellboy." i haven't met anyone yet that didn't love it.

new x-men - I've been following New X-Men since the beginning and I think the series is really just now coming into it's own, least that the way it felt in the final scene where things were meshing. I'm disappointed that this title seems to be people's least favorite of the endangered species books.

cap - in my opinion better than 25 or 26 or 27.

ant-man #12 - a nice, suprisingly mostly somber conclusion to the series. kirkman didn't miss a beat. i'm really glad we haven't seen the last of eric o'grady.

Well, with that description, I guess have to check it out... despite my dislike for My Chemical Romance.

Some brief thoughts on this week's issues:

WWH #4 - was disappointed with this one. Felt rushed and like Pak just wanted to get the Strange fight and gladiator stuff overwith so he could get on with the Sentry fight. JRJr's art was similar in this regard. Didnt look like his best effort at all. First issue of WWH that has really fell short for me and I'm losing faith in this event.

New X-Men #42 - This was an excellent issue. Lots of character driven moments and some funny and memorable scenes, like Wolverine chasing Pixie yelling, "$#%^ing unicorns!" or Santo and Victor scene where Santo and Laura try to convince him to let them cut his other arm off so it will grow back cool looking. Definitely one of hte best this week.

Penance: Relentless #1 - Not sure what to make of this issue. It just doenst jive with everything weve seen of Penance so far and completely contradicts anything going on in Thunderbolts. I know Jenkins made the character, but this issue left me with so many questions on where the story fits and how it relates to everything weve seen so far. Was a well written issue taken at face value, but not sure on if I'll be sticking with it for the long haul.

    Catwoman #71 -
another good issue from this series. Looks like Selina is getting ready to tell Bruce she killed Black Mask. I bet if she does, he will reveal he already knew. Hopefully they dont take Helena away from her, but it looks to be building up to that.

Quasar #3 - Fairly average issue and not too much happens. Looks like the savior is in a giant cocoon. Could end up being Adam Warlock based on what I've seen. Hopefully the last issue ends this mini with a bang next month.

Captain America #30 - Wow, this was easily the best issue this week. So many revelations and awesome moments. Finally found out what was on the letter Cap sent Tony and it was pretty much what most expected. Great, great, great issue. Grab this if you havent picked it up yet. Well worth it.

Has the cover to Superman /Batman #40 been changed?

The early solicits shows Batman's naughty hand copping a feel. But the cover shown on the Midtown site is sans hand. I haven't seen the cover on the stands yet and was just curious which version was released.

Well my comics are being held for me back home, and I wont be able to get them untill I go home next Friday.

However I know my Capt. Omnibus is waiting for me as well as my long, long, awaited Marvel Zombie Spider Man figure which I had almost given up hope on.

I am told it looks amazing and cant wait to see it!!!!

UL070226 BIRDS OF PREY #110 $2.99-Every one loves filler issues, right? right? lease: a mediocre issue from a mediocre writer. Obviously it's just treading water until McKeever comes on. Can't blame them, but still not worth my time or money. 3/10
Captain America 30-I can't believe I almost didn't pick this up. Just completely forgot about it. But damn if this wasn't the book of the week for me. Great art. I can't wait until we see how this story arc ends. I am all ready for a new Status quo. And if a lot of villains don't die I'll be surprised. 10/10
JUL070279 EX MACHINA #30 (MR) $2.99-Solid issue. Nothing major happened. but it's still a solid book. 8/10
JUL070229 FLASH #232 $2.99-I'm probably going to be dropping this soon. Writers that have done character defining runs on books should not return to that book unless it's a completely new concept and take on the series or it comes off as stale. So Far only Peter David has been able to bring it off for me. 4/10
JUL070236 JLA HITMAN #1 (OF 2) $3.99-I really enjoyed it. It was good to see Tommy and the boys at Noonan's again. It was kind of slow to begin with, mostly just recounting the funny bits of the ongoing series. I totally forgot about Hacken's missing hand. It didn't really pick up until about halfway through the series, but I did like it. I think Garth Ennis's Superman is one of the greatest versions of the character. His GL isn't bad either. Flash is a giant douche bag and a little whiney actually. Batman is the same Batman we've always had. Art was good and so was the story.Overall 8/10
Jul070205 Tales Of The Sinestro Corps Parallax #1 $2.99-And speaking of wastes of money. Added absolutely nothing to the overall story and had very little happen and nothing of substance. 2/10
JUL072167 IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN #12 $2.99-NOOOOO, I miss it already. I wonder if he'll stop being scum in Initiative.
JUL072197 NEW X-MEN #42 $2.99-Probably the best issue of this book since House of M. Really developed the characters and had great kinetic art. Wolverine chasing Pixie was a thing of beauty. 9/10

Still have WWH left to read

Hrm. I honestly didn't think I'd ever really say this, but uh, Waid is only doing 4 issues of FLASH right? Because I really don't want to have dropped this title two times in just as many years. And he better take Acuna with him methinks.
