Elvis had a pretty shitty mid period, but the early stuff (circa Heartbreak Hotel to Jailhouse Rock) is fucking great. I'm not a big Elvis-head per se, but still, the man could belt one out.
...and both men have staggeringly uneven catalogues.
Their best stuff more than makes up for their low points, though.
Elvis' rendition of "Always On My Mind" is devastating.
Nothing is cooler than Frank on "I've Got You Under My Skin".

I can thank my mom for the appreciation of Elvis Presley and his music (she's one of THOSE people.) And I really like Sinatra, not that I know all of his music, but I'm pretty much the only one out of my group of friends that can listen to the music and not go "Dude, this sucks!"
Frank's The Capitol Years has the overwhelming majority of his finest early works.
Though I love "My Way" and 'New York, New York" like I love my nuts.
Elvis' career bookends are my favorite. His pre-Army rockabilly and his late '60s/early '70s schmaltz is fantastic.
"Suspicious Minds", "Burning Love" and "Little Sister" are
Generally, any movie soundtrack song he did was crap on toast.

During the holidays, if this isn't playing...
...it just isn't Xmas.
Yeah, but name any musical act that was around for 20-25 years that doesn't have a wildly uneven catalogue.
