Horrortape Meltdown?

I had me some fun in the latest Mixtape Meltdown, and with October coming up had the bizarro notion of a horror-centric variant thereof. Crazy? Cool? Dunno, I just thought I'd float the idea. I have a crapload of eerie music from soundtracks and a good chunk of pop/rock/alt music that I think would blend nicely with the orchestral stuff for a scare-ifying mixtape.

I know there're some other horror geeks on the board. Anyone interested?

Considering I wanted to participate in the last meltdown, and had an impossible time trying to communicate with the person I was assigned, I'm done for it...although, I don't have a lot of horror music in the classical sense, I can probably make a relatively creepy disk.

Unsettling, creepy, eerie, terrifying...I think anything on that side of the fence would be game as long as the general horror theme shows through.

As to making sure everyone who participates gets some quid pro quo, I know I'd be down with sending a copy of whatever I come up with to anyone who gets shorted. I'm pretty sure I saw folks offering the same in the last Mixtape Meltdown, so why not here too?

Dammit, you will get hooked up. If the Horrortape Meltdown happens, and I'm thinking it will, I will absolutely see to it that everyone who participates gets their share of auditory fear.

I wanted to do one a couple of weeks ago - but realized the last was pretty recent.

I'm down. But we might want to put a moritorium on "Halloween" popping up on the cd's.

I hear ya. I just figured that, since it sometimes takes a while to get the ball rolling on these AND to get the mixes sent off once its on...good to gauge the interest now so we could get it done by October.

Well, maybe there isn't enough interest after all. We've got a nice even number at four, but is that too pathetically small for a mixtape meltdown? Probably so. It'd be more of a mixtape brownout.
