I stopped in my local comic shop today to pick up some titles I've been planning to get. At first it didn't dawn on me as I was perusing the displays and back issues, but then I froze and looked around. Both cashiers working were females. All the other customers in the store (there were six of them) were female. And I was the only male there.

Actually, my store's got a strong female customer base. Definitely a source of pride (and another feather in manga's cap).

this reminds me of the smalltown freshmen that show up at college in "the big city" for the first time and are amazed that there are more than 5 women in the same place and none of them are related to them.
