    website creation

Anybody have any experience using some kind of open source website creation tools? I mean something more like Wiki or Blog software that has templates in CSS and such. I'm making a wiki, and it's nice and easy. So, I was thinking something similar might be useful for making websites, just without the edit buttons for changing the site.

    Thoughts?

Good CSS templates for Dreamweaver would work too.

There are free things to use, but you have to do all the work. See Notepad. In all seriousness, I am not sure about an answer for your question since I am on the programming side of it. But if there were such a tool, I would love it since I loath the web pretty it up side of it. If you find something, be sure to post it. Good luck with css. I hate that shit too.

I'm messing around with a combination of stuff. Looking at CSS templates to swipe from them, swiping source code of widgets I like and that sort of thing. We'll see.

When it comes to using css for just basic stuff I am ok, but when you get into the page layout aspect of it, I start cursing the monitor and wishing whoever thought it up very bad things. I wish you luck in your endeavor. If we don't hear from you in 24 hours, I will call the president.

24 hours? You nuts? I'm working on DD 100. I'm spending very little time on the web shit.

looks great. i find it so much easier to navigate a simple web site. when it gets to busy, no matter how much i like the information on it, i tend not to revisit it.

I think it's okay to have a lot of content as long as the amount of crap on one page is limited, easy to see and nice. I liked Joomla because of it's ease of customization and it's template system. They have lots of easy to read layouts.
