I actually had more sympathy for him at the end of "Return of the Jedi" than in the last two movies. That said, I think this movie's gonna be great!

Lily and I just saw it. Not the greatest Star Wars... but certainly better than the past few ones have been. Lots of action, killer effects... and, of course... some purely stupid dialogue and robots who seemed to have a horrible cough, due to smoking.

How come nobody ever fucking shoots R2D2 and why is there always a perfect path for him to ride on????

Overall, a good film to spend a couple of hours on. HAS TO BE SEEN on the big screen.

I knew I would hate myself for staying up this late to see this. And I do. But wtf else I got to do during an overnighter in Akron.

I gave it two stars. Probably the same rating I would give them all except "A New Hope" and "Empire". I would give them both three and a half to four.

Same knocks as everyone else... dialogue is horrible, Yoda actually looked better as a muppet, blah...blah...blah. I think Natalie Portman is one of the sexiest and smartest women in film today, and she is just dreadful in this.

The main thing I found really hard to adjust to with "Sith" was the pacing. Long extended scenes of non-stop action, and then the whole thing screeches to a halt with drawn out dialogue that really drags.

    Is it really over?

It's the first time that the dialogue actually affected my enjoyment of these films. Not because the delivery was flat, or the writing was awkward, some of the dialogue was just flat out inappropriate for what was happening. Obi Wan saying that what he was fighting for was Democracy before his fight with Anakin was terrible, and if that was his motivation for the fight, then I'm sorely dissappointed. Vader tearing from his harness and stumbling out was also awkward, and the dialogue about Padme before was terrible. I've been a complete geek for these flicks from day one, and still to this day enjoy Episode 1 and 2, bad dialogue and all, but this time it actually detracted from the experience of it all.

    However.

The scene where Palpatine and Anakin are discussing what the dark side is capable of, while watching that crazy light show, is the best acting/dialogue in the series, prequels or OT.

Otherwise I had a lot of fun, there were some poignant dramatic moments and exciting set peices, interesting characters (though Dooku got the short shift). I'd give it a 6/10 on a first veiwing, and I will end up seeing it again soon because I have friends that want to go.

I loved it. Sure, there were "dear lord" moments with the dialogue, but every Star Wars movie has those moments.

The action sequences were amazing, the comic relief kept thankfully to a minimum, and it was dark enough to make the theatre gasp in a few parts. That, plus it wrapped up practically every loose end I could think of. Fantastic.

I gave it three stars out of four. Three and a half out of five. Time will tell, but it's one of my top two SW movies.

I thought the pacing and flow to this movie was far better than the first two prequels. Hayden was much better than in E2... in fact he and Portman seemed to have switched from E2 as far as who was good and who was awful. Even with reports of Ewan phoning in his performance, I thought he was the absolute badass in this movie. R2 was great, C3PO somewhat out of place.

My only real complaint, aside from some details about Grievous the average viewer wouldn't understand, and Dooku/Jedi Masters going out like punks... had to do with the atmosphere I was in. Some dumb bitch behind me felt the need to laugh at everything that had a remote reference to the other films (Owen/Beru and the twin sunsets for example). I mean, at what point do you realize you should shut the hell up? Maybe when no one else but you is laughing.

    Here's my main question:

If Plan 66 was that evil, what exactly was Plan 65, and do I even want to know what Plan 67 is?
