Unless she's kicking in for the cost you should send 'em back when you want to...
So I finally got on the Neflix wagon and its awesome. I'm queueing up some Akira Kurosawa, Woody Allen, Deadwood, The Wire, some anime here and there, Lady Vengeance, whatever. Life is great. Now my roommate's girlfriend, she's into a lot of the same movies as me so we tend to share and trade off. However, after 2 days, I've watched all 3 discs that I got(2 Deadwood DVDs and a movie) and I'm ready to send them back to get more. She wanted to borrow them, so I let her. After two days, I'm starting to get antsy. Like, I want to see what's next on Deadwood really bad. Knowing my luck, the weekend will come and I'll ask "did you watch the DVDs yet?" and she'll be all "No, dude, I'm going to watch them today" or "Oh, I watched them but I left them at my house." She's a big time stoner and has lagged on returning movies that I rented from Blockbuster. I can be patient up to a point, however this Netflix thing is new and I'm ready for some heavy movie watching.
Should I just bogart the Netflix and not share the wealth? Be an a-hole friend that can't wait a few days so someone else can enjoy the same great movies and TV shows as I do? I want to share but I also don't won't to wait on some pothead to get around to watching it or leaving it at their house when I let them borrow it.

and if she does want to share, make her pitch in, and you can create her own que on your account my roomie just started doing the same thing. You could decide how many dvds she receives and everything. It sounds like the best option for your situation.
Yup. My wife and I had a similar arrangement with a friend of hers but I got sick and tired of waiting for the friend to get around to watching the movies, so I just started sending them back when we were done with them. If she really wants to see 'em, she can get her own fucking account.
Looks like you just gotta be the Netflix Nazi, huh.

I do this with my parents sometimes. They're pretty slow about returning so I do two things now to assure they have enough time to watch/return a movie and to assure that I keep the flow coming to my mailbox.
1) Give them the movie on Friday or Saturday. It's probably not going back in the mail until at least Monday anyway. This just gives them extra time to enjoy it.
2) Always alternate TV with film. Right now I've got the 2-at-a-time plan. Rather than get two movies at once, I typically get one movie and one TV show disc I want at the same time. My parents aren't interested in the TV stuff, so, at most, they get a movie out of the deal, but I've still got the TV coming and going. Right now I'm trying to catch up with Rescue Me Season 3 and DVR-ing season 4.![]()
You could always set up 2 queues. That's what me and my girlfriend did. Use one for the stuff that you know she'd probably want to see and then use the other one for stuff that only you want to watch. That way when you send back one of the ones that only you want to watch you'll get the next one on that list. Of course you can say fuck it and not even let her borrow them since it sounds like she's not even paying for it.
