Man, I can't agree with you less here. I loved the art in V for Vendetta and Watchmen. I have absolute respect for the work that Davids Lloyd and Gibbons did on those series. It might not be the hyper-dynamic/stylistic work you prefer but it's full of life, nuance, and subtlety. They don't pop out at you. They tell a story in a way that enables complete immersion into the world the characters are living in.

Anything Inoue does is gold and I suggest people check out whatever they can find of his work. Vagabond is his latest work but the one he first made his name on is Slam Dunk, a basketball manga. It was released in the US by Raijin comics but they unfortunately were only able to do 5 volumes before Raijin folded.
