man, I love the art in Watchmen. lol

Vertigo has obviously had alot of great art, but I think a series like Sandman was incredibly lopsided during most of its run. P. Craig Russell did an amazing one-shot there, and again, Hemple's stuff would be worth buying an "Absolute" version if they ever bothered.

if not for Koike & Kojima's body of work, this would be the only other chambra-like manga I would suggest people to check out. A masterful retelling of the famous Musashi legend.

these comics were Jean Giraud's bread & butter in europe for decades. You might be able to find some of the Epic Comics collections from around 20 years ago. I found a few of them as well as this great thick little b&w book that some publisher put out about 10 years ago. Simply some of the best western comics anywhere. Giraud's style is strictly old school comic strip cartooning, not like what alot of you would have expected from his trippier and more popular work that came to the states first thanks to Heavy Metal.

penned by Dan O'Bannon. I believe Moebius and O'Bannon were dicking around while working on either the failed "Dune" project or it was during their time on "Alien" that they did that comic.
