i wonder why we never got to see this. i was looking forward to it, and then nothing. can't even find a reason why it didn't happen.

Because Red Sea came out first? And then they moved on to Criminal? After Brubaker signed an exlusive?

lol I looked on the back of my Red Sea 1st issue and its almost verbatum the same thing.

i was wondering if sea of red had anything to do with it. but i'm sure the final product would have been very different. bru/phillips mini would have been 3 issues, while remender and dwyers was 13 issues. ah well. i hope ed could chime in on this eventually, i still want to see this project.

Here's the deal. It came down to a few things, partly contract stuff with the publisher we were talking to, and partly that suddenly there were two other pirate vampire ideas announced right at the same time. Then Sean and I just decided we wanted to do a crime book, instead.

Maybe someday I'll do it somehow. I have the whole outline.

Can you put vampires into Criminal somehow, because that would be great?

Just change pirate vampires to buccaneer mummies and it'll be a hit!
