I saw FF: Rise of the Silver Surfer

It sucked. Really, the only thing they managed to get right was the Surfer. Every scene with him was wonderful. Everything else was piss-poor.
Julian McMahon's Doom is a pathetic second-rate Green Goblin. Dr. Doom was the inspration for Darth Vader. He should act it. McMahon was practically playing his character from Nip/Tuck in this movie (just as he did in the last). There is nothing menacing or threatening about Dr. Doom in this film. Nothing. While he looked the part, he simply didn't act it.
And Jessica Alba had some of the worst wigs I've seen since the first X-Men flick.

HORRIBLE. He really was a tornado!
Well, actually, you get an outline of what looks like his horned head hiding behind debris and energy, but that's it. Horrible, horrible cop-out. And saying a big guy in a purple helmet would be too unbelievable is ludicrous in a movie starring Michael Chiklis in the cheapest-looking rubber suit money can buy.

His character in Nip/Tuck is awesome though! Dr. Christian Troy should be in every movie.

It's so freaky to hear Lawrence Fishburne's voice coming from that CG model with slightly jerky movements.

I saw it tonight. I liked it alot. It was much better than the first film (which I also enjoyed) I'm glad to see that my fears of the PG rating and short run time were unwarranted. I suppose it could have been a tad bit longer though in order to have some more stuff with Doom since that seemed a bit rushed. It also had the best Stan Lee cameo ever.
