I don't know how they ,"the man", would find out you were using one. I guess if someone died or the signal went out too, too far and messed with police/fire boradcasts it would get suspicious.![]()
So once upon a time, I was stumbling around ebay and saw either a jammer or plans to build one. The idea sounded cool - a little device you could turn on at the movies and prevent assholes from spoiling the experience. A little more digging found them to be illegal. In fact, most countries have outlawed them. There are safety concerns that they'd interfere with pacemakers, and, because they broadcast radio waves, they're subject to FCC laws in the US to some degree, so are on a level with pirate radio. I wonder if there are unspoken reasons for the bannings and harsh penalties, like interfering with official communications of police and fire, etc.
Anyone have any experience with these things? Documented cases of someone being hurt because of one being used? Or someone caught using one?
