Once again The Daily Show and John Stewart does the job of a real journalist while the so-called "Liberal Media" says nary a peep. Out of the entire Firing of Fed. Prosecutors scandal shitstorm this little bit sounds incredibly horrible. Watch the video from TDS:

Well, he spoke pretty clearly in that video.. apparently, AG tried to convince the then Attorney General, while he was doped up on painkillers and sick as a dog, to override the constitution for the wiretapping program, something that would have a lasting effect on the entire country and required Ashcroft to be of sound mind as he judged it.
"You said Spider-man." "No, I didn't. I said Steel Spider, man."
"Pants are an illusion, as is death."
Never Forget
Oh, yeah, I heard about this a bit. This is when the breast-covering dude dressed Gonzales down stating "I'm not the attorney general right now" when Gonzales tried an end-run around the acting AG.
Glad that you caught it on the Daily Show, but he (and his show) are not the only places this has been mentioned/debated/discussed in the news media.
I have been reading about it in the news/newspapers all week, since the testimony. Seen it on CNN.com, UPI.com, there have been lengthy discussions about this on National Public Radio, my own local papers, The Boston Globe and The Boston Herald have featured this story, and even written op/ed peices on it.
Not sure if my experience is out of the norm, but again, this isn't something that the news media has covered up or not discussed.
Granted, I don't read the Star Tribune much anymore or ever watch CNN since my deployment, but I'd even guess that if TDS is covering something like this, it's probably being covered by all the major news outlets as well. They've never tried to be the ones breaking the big stories, just making fun of the people involved in them.
One of my buddies mentioned this to me in the pub on Friday. I wish I could say I was surprised, but no this sounds like the sort of thing that happening in the states right now.
