What we do: This is a fanbased review group, open to everybody.

As people post the reviews, I will add your name and score to a list in the main post and at the end of the week average the scores for an overall grade on the book. We grade on a scale of 0-10, the meanings of which roughly translate to:

10 - Everything I want in a comic, an instant classic
    9 - Excellent, a nearly perfect read
8 - Highly recommended but it has minor flaws
7 - Very good, it does have some problems
6 - Above average but has deep flaws
    5 - An average comic
4 - Below average, the flaws outweigh the good
    3 - A disappointing comic
    2 - Forgettable, a waste of time
1 - Stay away!! One of the worst comics I've read

Anyone who participates is asked to please keep this scale in mind when giving a grade so that everyone is operating on the same system.

THERE IS NO OBLIGATION TO PARTICIPATE EVERY WEEK. Please join in as little or as much as you like week to week. If you are uncomfortable giving a grade then just join in the discussions and ask questions.

Re: BB Review Group week 131 - Ultimates 2 #13 (spoilers)

    loved it.

i was afraid we wouldnt get any resolution to the Thor/Loki mystery regarding thor's sanity. glad that wasnt the case.

i though the 8 page fold out was very cool. it was neat to see quicksilver all over the place.

i disliked the "get out of my face" dialogue from hank when he tried to justify what he did.

not sure how i feel about hawkeye killing the black widow like that.

i thought the ending was pretty solid and it seemed to me that they were implying that Gail was pregnant when steve went to the super soldier program.

it was a very nice ending. had solid resolution and really gave loeb and anyone who follows them on the title a very nice stage to play with.

8/10 because some of the art didnt seem as crisp. especially the art from the NYC scenes. it is clear that the bulk of the energy spent on this book was spent on the gatefold.

Well, that wasn't worth the wait.

Fantastic art, as usual, but it almost seemed to be trying too hard at points. For a double-length issue, I was very displeased at how many plot points were just casually discarded in the final issue. Still, those last few pages were fantastic. I just wish this amazing run had ended on a slightly stronger note. 7/10

    Ultimates 2 # 13

This issue was largely an enjoyable fight scene but never felt all that relevant at least not compared to the Ultimates/Liberators fights which preceded it. But it's nice to see the Loki sub-plot officially answered and yes Thor truly is the Asgardian God Of Thunder and Loki's tampering with reality was the source of many problems including framing Cap for the Barton massacre. The Rainbow Bridge sequence meanwhile was absolutely stunning with Thor's brothers from Asgard coming to the rescue (No Warriors Three Sadly ). Also pleased to see that this was not a kill crazy massacre and even Hank Pym is spared as he's jailed in the New Ultimate Universe Super-Villian prison...The Triskelion. Hawkeye's scene with the Black Widow in the hospital was chilling and i was cheering Clint on the whole way through. Iron Man taking control of the team and his quickly passing sorrow over Natasha was side-splittingly funny and speaking of funny if you didn't laugh at Wanda flirting with the Ultron robots again you have no soul. Ending the book with Steve Rogers on the night before taking the Super-Soldier Serum was inspired and lovely.

On the negative side is...The Hulk. He does nothing this issue and there's Zero wrap-up in terms of his status, which is disappointing.

Still i need to see this team in action again pronto. Sadly i can't raise up any enthusiasm for the upcoming Jeph Loeb/Joe Mad run. Any bets on how long it'll take for Steve to bellow out Avengers Assemble while fighting Loki,Red Skull,Ultron and Kang?

    2 Issues or 3?

Still a fun end to a fantastic run. Take a bow Millar & Hitch this was something special.

Well worth the wait. A great wrap up to a really great run. The art was beautiful, and even though I'd seen the 8 page spread online, seeing it in the book is something else. I agree that the Hulk was underutilized, but I didn't take off the half point for that. I took the half point off because I feel this lost a little something because it wasn't time. The hardcover is gonna be gorgeous.

    Ultimates 2 #13 -9/10

Cool wrap around cover. For some reason I wasnt totally crazy about Caps face tho on the cover. Alittle to cartoony I think, but thats a small complaint.
O.K. the head shot that Thor delivers to Loki was just awesome. The frickin 8 page spread was amazing. That alone prolly accounted for the delay in getting this issue out! And man Hawkeye is just becoming fucking awesome to me. Between his Ultimate version and him being in new Avengers in the 616, a character I have always simply not liked or cared about is being turned into a bad ass that Im beginning to really like. The arrow to the face was simply awesome and the best moment in this issue him getting revenge for his family.Would have liked to seen something about Bruce after the fight. The Tony part was awfully cliche imo, and cheesy. The Cap ending was touching, but I admit Im not exactly sure how that fits in or what its significance is in relation to the story I just read. This issue was pretty good but it would have been so much better if it didnt come out 8 months after issue 12. I aint sure how much I liked all the trolls and giant wolves and other sword and fantasy elements being meshed in with my capes and heroes. Kind of like forcing a square into a round hole for me. But over all some pretty good stuff.

Nothing happened that we didn't already know about. Very anti-climatic.

I hated the 8 page spread. It should have been a multiple panel fight scene.

All that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Crom... so grant me one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!

I thought it was a great ending with a TON of set up for the next guys. It was funny, sad, poignant, and exciting and it delivered an ending for almost every character's plot and story.
