    The Most Realistic Character

Who is the most realistic, fully realized character that has been written (created) in comics? I know that this is a subjective question but I'd really like to hear some thoughts on the subject. It can be anyone that you believe is the most 'real,' but I'd like some evidence behind the assumption or at least a mild explaination

I will likely get corrected, but I am going to go with Tommy Monahan. As far as 'super heroes' go, he had an odd moral set, but was very human in nature. He had human failings (drinking, failed relationships, etc.). And even his supposed 'powers' were pretty well forgot during the run.

Assuming of course you talking about superhero comics anyway.

I thought Jesse Custer was a very three-dimensional character. He was very relatable, in that he had flaws and good points like any person, and that you didn't always like him, but you usually understood why he was doing what he was doing. I think Garth's flare for dialogue really helped bring him to life. It's less easy to relate to someone when their dialogue is choppy or unrealistic.

Depends on what kind of character you're talking about. I dunno...Yorick (or is that with two r's?) seems pretty well thought-out to me, as far as a science fiction scenario goes.

Some girl on the street asked me if I was saved yet. I told her I saved at the checkpoint a couple of minutes back, and can reload from there if I die. She was confused.

Cerebus...despite being an aardvark...Sim used 300 issues to flesh out the character and his behavior.
