I have been considering lately to start reading Ultimate Spiderman. A question do I have to begin at the begining to get the story? I will be buying it in trade form and thats 17 soft covers or 9 hardcovers I just don't have the cash for that and for my other buying habits and food and rent.

Can you come into the book not at the beginning and still get the story or is it laden with heavy continuity? Must I begin with the first trade?

Anyone have any recommended arcs in USM?

Is Ultimate Spider Man the best Ultimate book out there now?

Ultimate Spider-Man is by far my favorite Ultimate title, next would be The Ultimates, which currently is only one HC (or three trades).

I'd start from the beginning and buy the HC's, which should be easily found at a discount.
