There are unresolved endings like Hamlet where something's left intentionally vague and up to the audience's interpretation. And then there's Long Halloween, which proceeds to give you the finger at the end.

I wouldn't say it gave me the finger, but it really left me scratching my head. I'd love to know what Loeb's intentions were.

It was three people with the same idea.

    Harvey, Gilda, and Alberto.

And if I had JUST read the story, I'd be able to tell you the order in which they were Holiday.

    Spoilers:
Did Harvey know that Gilda was also Holiday, or was he alluding to himself after he kills the Roman?

Fuck, I should reread this. I loved it.

I'm almost POSITIVE he knew about Gilda.

Hmmm. This is tempting. If I remember correctly, I was always disappointed with the quality of the TPB I have. I belive I didn't care for the paper stock they used was and I KNOW the Absolute will be top notch.

    Hmmm... $47 shipped from Amazon.

I just got my Long Halloween in the mail, and boy oh boy is it gorgeous. Besides the beautiful printing job (same type of thick paper we saw on Watchmen, and the great smell that comes with it), there's an introduction/conversation with Christopher Nolan and David Goyer about the impact TLH had on their films, gallery and prototype sketches for the action figures, a really good interview with Loeb and Sale conducted by Richard Starkings, the full pitch for the Long Halloween, and commentary by Loeb and Sale on the covers for the series. There's also 4 pages that we'd previously only seen the pencils of in the trade, which are now inked and coloured and inserted back into the story, and the Falcone Empire hierarchy has also been coloured.

    ...
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the smell. I got fairly bizarre looks in my LCS this past weekend when I cracked it open and proclaimed "this smells just like Watchmen"!
