Weinstein to re-release Grindhouse as two separate movies?

It'll be a triple dip or more.

We'll have:
GrindHouse: The Complete Experience
Planet Terror: The Extended Experience
Death Proof: The Extended Experience
Machete: The Version You Never Got to See in the Theater

now that I've thought about it for a minute, I think they are talking about separating the features into two, but only to freak people out enough to go see it right away instead of waiting.

because why wait 2 weeks???

Yeah...that was the plan all along...but not releasing it that way domestically. Both films were to be released as GRINDHOUSE: Death Proof and GRINDHOUSE: Planet Terror with extended footage to make them a bit longer in territories outside the US because the double-feature concept is foreign outside our borders.

I read somewhere, EW maybe, that Tarantino was supposedly already working on an extended version of Death Proof to re-release separately.

yeah, he wants to present a longer cut of it at cannes.

I guess I can understand why they want to do this.

That being said, I'm glad I was able to get to the theater and watch both movies back to back with trailers sprinkled throughout.

It was well worth the time and money for me to experience it like that!

I'm thinking I'll need to go again so I can enjoy it as a whole.

I'm hoping/praying we get a third group of women engaging in inane conversation in the extended cut of Death Proof.

And, unfortunately, I will probably see an extended version of Planet Terror, though I saw the double feature already.
