I'm convinced nobody knows what they want...

    from a TMNT movie.
    http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/teen...ninja_turtles/

Half these people are pissed cause there wasn't enough action
Another half are pissed is wasn't all slapstick saturday morning cartoony

I find it really really frustrating. Its a movie about ninja turtles......NINJA turtles.....its an interesting visual....and guess what? that's what it was! interesting visuals!

And I love how some guy from Variety thinks the costumes from the 90's flicks looks better than the CG turtles

I have to go with the former camp. I was interested in this movie right up until I saw the first trailer. As soon as one of the turtles fell instead of landing and they started grabbing each other screaming like Shaggy and Scooby, I figured this was one step away from eating pizza and shouting cowabunga dude...and that is not what I wanted at all having read the original books.

I know what scene you're talking about, but honestly it took like 3 seconds and it was over, then back to the action sequence. Sure, it'd be nice to be able to do without scenes such as that, but again they're few and far between to just keep the kids interested. Check out some of fight scenes on Youtube or give it a look on dvd, you may be surprised.

It's got to be difficult for the film-makers... They've got to try and find the right balance to make fans of the original comics happy as well as the fans of the Saturday morning cartoons. Realistically, it's the cartoons that's really more well-known of the two and what, along w/ a dozen toy lines, is more recognized as "who" the Turtles are and made the most money. You can't go hardcore serious and neglect the popularity and bankability of what the cartoons did.

I was going to take my nephew to see it for his birthday, but his mom took him before I asked. I was also a little disappointed that the enemies have nothing to do with classic turtle enemies...they're just monsters. I wasn't dying for Shredder and the Foot again...but Baxter Stockman, Krang or the Triceratop aliens would have been cool. Is Casey Jones in the film?

I still want and need to see this. It looks pretty action packed from what I saw.

Yeah, for those thinking it might be too campy, its not. In fact its quite the opposite, it might be TOO dark for some peoples' tastes. I'm actually really suprised at the fact that they got away with a lot of stuff that they did.

Like what? Hide it if you don't want to spoil.

    Spoiler:
For one thing, it is pretty violent for a PG movie. Lots of kicking, hitting, punching and things you'd want from a Ninja Turtle movie. It really wasn't too campy. Sure, some of the jokes weren't funny but they weren't on the bad joke level of the previous movies ("Help! I'm a turtle and I can't get up!" anyone?).

If nothing else go see it for the fight between Leonardo and Raphael. The coolest scene I've ever seen in a CGI movie.

Really it is a great movie, and while not as dark as the original comics, I think it's great for what it is.

And, I think some people know what they wanted. Look at what the users rated the movie.

It's the critics who didn't know what to expect.
