    How do the New Gods work?

    So in 7 Soldiers Mr. Miracle, the New Gods had a new set up. Something big had happened off panel and the characters had new appearances, interacted with mortals on Earth, some remembered who they were others not as much. New deal. Yet in Firestorm, Blue Beetle, and Flash Fastest Man Alive, the characters are as they used to be. Other than Shilo Norman Mr. Miracle (which McDuffie does touch on when the Orion and others interact with him). Is this part of a story we haven't seen yet (52? Countdown?) or am I supposed to just roll with it?
    carlgiannini: All I wanted to know is what trades have been released. Now I've committed to spend an extra hundred or two on comics. What happened here?

    Seems to me as if DC is picking the best parts of Seven Soldiers and may be just leaving off a few of the lesser parts.

    I have a feeling we're going to find out in Countdown. It's pretty much the main thing I'm looking forward to.

    I didn't dig 7 Soldiers too much. I respect it as a creative work and an experiment. Although I have had several people buy 7 Soldiers #1 thinking it was the start of something rather than the end.

    But I try to keep up with the storylines and this one just just wasn't adding up. There's either a new deal reboot for the New Gods or there's not, right?

    Its too new to start selective retconning it isn't it? This isn't Vietnam, there's rules.
