I have to say that I enjoyed the latter half of this Trek incarnation way better than the first.

Although the Vulcan arc was a bit slow-moving, and I thought at the time that there were too many multi-parters, I have enjoyed this season, in retrospect.

I don't know if I could've stuck with it while it was airing on a regular television schedule... too much to be continued's. But in little jolts, sitting down and digging it was fun.

High points were definitely the Andorian/marauder ship saga, the Terra Prime story, and the Augment stuff. Definitely giving an explanation as to what caused the Klingons to look like they did in the original series was awesome. And the mirror universe story... just wow. I loved the theme, I loved the tone, and the Defiant just made me gape in awe. Whoever did the computer model for that ship was an inspired artist.

Low points... as I said, the Vulcan saga was a bit slow-moving, and maybe a tad long. I liked the irony of what happened to Archer, though. And the last episode should've been a two-parter. Trip died needlessly, and although I kind of like the spin on the TNG version of things, it cheapened the close of Enterprise. In the special features someone said that Terra Prime was really meant to be the last episode of the season, and that really was how they should have left it.

All in all, though, a marked improvement from seasons one and two, and a worthy follow-up to three.
