    Question A question on HEROES

Seems as it isn't coming to my TV anytime soon i started to download the episodes. I have seen the first three but i have a question about the first episode.

If this has been answered in another thread please remember that you guys are way ahead of me episodes wise and i don't want to read about future episodes so i am avoiding other threads.

Anyway was there a re-write after the first epiosde? The artists who sees the future had a hand missing at the end of the first show which doesn't get mentioned again. Also the young black child had run away with 200 dollars at the end of the first show only to be back with no mention of the events!

Just wondering did i miss something?

    Re: A question on HEROES

Well, I can tell you that I saw the pilot at ComiCon last year (along with many others) which was supposed to be a much longer cut than what was supposed to go on the air. It seems they had cut a lot of things and reworked them into later episodes. I never saw the broadcast version of the pilot, so I don't know if those things were actually cut or not. It could be you saw that same version. I don't know. If it featured a subplot about terrorists, then it may well be the case. A lot of the stuff from the cop was used again in later episodes. And as you mentioned, Mika is still with mom and the painter seems to still have his hand.

Anyway, just stick with it. After the first...maybe four or five episodes, everything seems to work itself out.

Besides...you're a comic fan. Continuity issues should be nothing new.

I actually thought the whole Mike-taking-a-bunch-of-money-thing was a little confusing (or rather, misleading) since, yeah to the best of my knowledge nothing ever came of it.
And I don't remember Isaac only having one hand, but it's been a while since I watched the 1st episode.

I had no idea what you were talking about, so I looked it up. From the entry for the pilot episode at tviv.org/Heroes/Genesis -

The original edit of this episode sent out to reviewers and placed on iTunes was called In His Own Image and had a number of differences to the final aired version. The main difference being that when Peter and Simone find Isaac he had cut off his hand instead of just overdosing. A few other minor changes are that the first scene with Isaac and Simone is longer and moved later in the episode and the final scene was much less of a cliffhanger with Nathan's flying depicted differently.

I just started watching this show too. I thought the pilot really REALLY sucked but I plugged on for a couple more episodes because folks on the Benbo seemed to indicate that it got better. And it did indeed.

I've watched up until about episode 5 and it's getting pretty groovy.

However, Milo Ventimiglia is possibly the worst actor I've ever seen.
    He blows.

Really like the Japanese guys though. Adrian Pasdar is also always cool.

And astonishlingly, they seem to have found a child actor that can actually act and is not annoying or cloyingly cutesy. That there's an achievement in itself.

Looks like Tim Sale is doing all the paintings and stuff which is also fun.

Well, hopefully you don't turn out to think the exact opposite of me.

It does sound like you saw a different version of the pilot than I did though.

At about episode 4 the quality of everything begins to rise - then again at 6 or so. I was not impressed either but hung in there with the show. It is fun. Not as amazing as early LOST, but who cares, at least it's not other campy superhero show...

Alex Maleev seems to be taking over the art chores from Sale at some point in case you had not seen that - can't wait!
