Anime Fans, anyone seen Gunslinger Girl?

I was in my local MovieStop yesterday and I saw this cover to this anime called Gunslinger Girls. I've not heard of it and I'm curious how it was. The title caught me and I read the back of the box and it looked interesting but sometimes how those things go it looks good but turns out to be a major yawn fest. So if you know of it let me know if you like and why?

I thought going it it was going to be a "cute girls kill badguys" show, but's it's actually pretty disturbing. It's good. If it were cheaper, id buy it.

I saw the first disc, wasn't all that interested. A lot of similarities to two other series I didn't like, Noir and Madlax.

the episodes I've seen are pretty good, but I'm netflixing the series instead of going out and buying the set.
